January 31, 2006 . . . Peter Jacobs, General Manager of The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada is pleased to announce that the winner of the MCC Jacket for which a draw was held in their booth at SUPERSHOW 2006 is James Huber of Kitchener, Ontario. Congratulations to James on winning the draw!



January 19, 2006 . . . As announced on
Canadianrider.com, famed Canadian road racer, Michael Taylor dropped a bombshell during his appearance at the 30th Annual International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW at the International Centre in Toronto. Taylor, two time Canadian National Superbike Champion, announced that he would return to the Parts Canada backed National road racing tour in the Thunder National Support series, riding for 401 Ducati of Kingston, ON, aboard a 2006 Ducati Paul Smart Replica.



January 18 . . . SUPERSHOW 2006 received an unprecedented amount of coverage from the Toronto media including newspaper stories and photos, radio interviews and ticket give-aways, television coverage and magazine stories. In the Show Office, where all known newspaper stories are posted onto the media room wall, one wall was completely covered with clippings from papers all over Ontario. Many people reported hearing radio interviews about the Show and viewing the on-site live coverage on Breakfast Television Friday morning. Special thanks to Pit Pass Radio for it's weekly segments with SUPERSHOW guests leading up to the Show dates since November.



January 16, 2006 . . . SUPERSHOW 2006 Exhibitors have reported excellent sales during the three jam-packed days, continuing the Show's reputation as the once-a-year place to shop for everything in motorcycling. The motorcycle dealers were very happy to have sold record numbers of new bikes and reports are still coming in congratulating the SUPERSHOW for creating an injection of floor traffic into their dealerships immediately following the SUPERSHOW.



January 14, 2006 . . . One of the most well-received features at the 2006 SUPERSHOW was the appearance of Speed TV's Michele Smith of American Thunder. Canadian fans lined up for a chance to meet Michele and get her autograph and she took the time to speak to everyone, while posing for photos when asked. Her Michele Smith merchandise was also very popular with girls and guys alike, and her last duty of the Show was to hand out the big trophies and the Super Cash to the Mid-USA Showbike winners announced on the Hall 4 stage Sunday afternoon.



January 12, 2006 . . . 55,000 motorcycle enthusiasts attended SUPERSHOW 2006 over the three days of January 6, 7, 8, despite a freak Saturday morning freeze-up that caused accidents on major highways and saw the Don Valley Parkway and sections of the Gardner Expressway closed. Organizers are ecstatic after having arranged many new features, special guests and an overall upgrade of the Show for it's 30th Anniversary celebration, and couldn't be more pleased with the response from the public. Thanks to all who attended and be sure to spread the word to all your motorcycling friends about SUPERSHOW 2007, January 5, 6, 7, 2007 at the Toronto International Centre.



January 10, 2006 . . . Show Producer, Bar Hodgson, announced that all seven Halls of SUPERSHOW 2007 will be re-focused to make it easier to locate specific areas of interest for motorcyclists. The new Hall 5 will focus on the custom motorcycle scene. Hall 4A will feature an extensive ‘Art of the Motorcycle' type of exhibit. Hall 4 will become a new dedicated Racer and Performance Hall, while Halls 1 and 2 will concentrate on the Touring and Cruiser aspects of motorcycling. Hall 3 remains the Main Industry Hall featuring the new bikes. Watch for further details.



January 9, 2006 Show Producer, Bar Hodgson, has announced that SUPERSHOW 2007 will be expanding by the addition of Hall 5, to increase the Show floor space to 425,000 square feet over all seven Halls of the Toronto International Centre. This expansion will satisfy the needs of the current exhibitors requiring additional space and allow for further exhibitors and future expansion while allowing Show Management to increase the public aisle widths to avoid congestion for attending motorcyclists.



January 8, 2006 . . . SUPERSHOW 2006 was a resounding success with 55,000 motorcycle enthusiasts attending, in spite of an early Saturday slippery highway situation that saw a rash of car accidents on both the Queen E from the west and 401 from the east, and the closing of the Don Valley Parkway. Exhibitors reported strong sales to Show attendees who were observed purchasing a wide array of helmets, jackets, and motorcycle accessories. Exhibitors also reported strong sales of new motorcycles. Show Producer, Bar Hodgson, stated that every square foot of the six Halls of the International Centre was utilized by exhibitors, and that available exhibitor space is now filled to capacity.



January 2, 2006 . . . A record number of 28 Dealers and Manufacturers are exhibiting at the SUPERSHOW to show off the latest
2006 motorcycles. Many dealers are also offering excellent bargains on 2005 motorcycles that they must clear to make way for the 2006's. So be sure to bring your credit card, and there are 5 ATM's on-site to assist shoppers in their transactions.



January 1, 2006 . . . Noted trackside announcer Frank Wood has been appointed the Master of Ceremonies for the Joe Rocket Stage in Hall 2. Frank will be interviewing Canadian and U.S. Racing Champions on an ongoing basis throughout all three days of the SUPERSHOW.



January 1, 2006 . . . Famed Daytona 200 Track Announcer Pat Gonsalves will be the Master of Ceremonies for the MAX Awards to both Racers and Riders, Saturday at 3pm on the Joe Rocket Stage, and also Master of Ceremonies for the Mid-USA Showbike Awards on Sunday at 4pm on the Hall 4A Main Entertainment Stage.



December 26, 2005 . . . Among the 2006 new model motorcycles being introduced at the SUPERSHOW is an exciting line-up of Scooters, one of the fastest growing segments of the market, especially amongst new urban riders looking for the ease and economy that scooters offer. Look for full model line-ups from Kymko, Vespa, Pertutti, Aprilia as well as offerings from Suzuki.



December 23, 2005 . . . A full line-up of entertainment is scheduled for Hall 4A's Main Entertainment Stage, including Live Bands, the 'Live to Ride' leather fashion shows by On The Fringe and Sunday's Mid-USA Showbike Awards presentation for all bikes competing in the judged competition levels. Michele Smith will be on Stage on Sunday to hand out the top prizes with their Super Trophies and Super Cash Prizes. For specific times please visit our

December 23, 2005 . . . Tomson Parkman, famed pin-striper from Ventura, California will appear at SUPERSHOW 2006. Parkman, whose grandfather invented the Beugler Striper, a precise hand-held striping tool and one of the top names in pinstriping today, will conduct pinstriping demonstrations and hands-on lessons with members of the SUPERSHOW's audience in his booth on Main Street in Hall 4. The Beugler Striper will be available for sale to those interested in becoming involved in this artistic aspect of customizing motorcycles.



December 21, 2005 . . . Big Changes are in the works for SUPERSHOW 2007 as the Show will expand into the International Centre's Prestigious Hall 5, making North America's Largest Motorcycle Consumer Show even larger with 425,000 square feet of exhibit space. Hall 5 will become the new showcase for Choppers and the artistry of custom bikes while Hall 4 will be re-shaped to become the new Racers' Hall. Read more about the SUPERSHOW 2007

December 20, 2005 . . . 'The World's Fastest Indian', a new motorcycle movie from Odeon Films, starring Anthony Hopkins, has been signed as a Sponsor of SUPERSHOW 2006. Odeon will kick off it's publicity campaign at the SUPERSHOW in advance of it's February release date. Watch for promotions throughout the Show and the movie's full page ad in International Motorcycle Magazine, free to attendees of the SUPERSHOW.



December 19, 2005 . . . The excitement is building as top name custom choppers are registering daily for the SUPERSHOW 2006 Mid-USA Showbike competition and a chance to win their share of the $35,000 Super Jackpot. Daytona's 'Best in Show' winner – the unbelievable $250,000.00 "Phenom" built by Michael Long of Quebec - will compete in the Level 4 Pro Builders Class against creations such as the Detroit Grand Master Bike from Pensylvannia, Jamie Fulmer's "Open Wound" and Nick Foxcroft's "Lowco", both from Ontario. Look for these showstoppers in Hall 4A where all the major turntable displays compete for the Judges' attention and your admiration.



December 13, 2005 . . . AMA racing star and Michael Jordan Motorsports Superbike rider, Jason Pridmore, has just been added to the long list of racers appearing at SUPERSHOW 2006. Jason joins fellow Joe Rocket Racers and past Canadian Superbike Champions, Steve Crevier and Pascal Picotte on the Joe Rocket Stage in Hall 2 for autograph sessions for racing fans. December 9, 2005 . . . Michele Smith will be the featured weekly SUPERSHOW Guest on Tuesday's live Pit Pass Radio 1 hour interview segment, along with Show Producer Bar Hodgson, and Donn Proudfoot, President of Titan Motorcycles. Michele will talk about her upcoming appearances at SUPERSHOW 2006, January 6, 7, 8 at the Toronto International Centre where Canadian fans will meet her and get an autograph from one of our most popular motorcycle television personalities. Don Proudfoot will discuss the full 2006 Titan line and announce details of the live 'Bobber Build' at SUPERSHOW 2006 where audience members can become Titan apprentices and help in the creation of this 3-day project. November 30, 2005 . . . By popular demand SUPERSHOW 2006 has invited Orange County Chopper's 'T-Rex' bike to be on display for the public to see in person. Autographed by both Paul Teutel, Sr, and Paul Jr., the striking 2004 T-Rex Softail will be recognizable to everyone from their TV Show 'American Chopper'. Owner John Selsek of Stoney Creek will also be selling OCC merchandise with all profits going to the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind). November 28, 2005 . . . Former Canadian Grand Prix Racer and Motorcycle book author, Michelle Duff will be a guest of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum display in Hall 3, showcasing her new children's book, Serial Number 6218, written from a motorcycle's point of view. Michelle will also have her Racing biography, Make Haste Slowly, at SUPERSHOW 2006 available for purchase and signing. Only a few copies remain of this wonderful account of racing the world GP circuit in the 1950's and 60's.



November 23, 2005 . . . The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum has announced a date for its first Annual Induction Awards Banquet. The Banquet, sponsored by the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC), will take place May 6th, 2006 at Roma's Place Banquet & Convention Centre in Mississauga. Tickets will be available at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum display at the SUPERSHOW, in Hall 3. It will be a night of celebrating Canadian motorcycling and everyone is welcome. You can also be involved in the selection of Inductees.



November 22, 2005 . . . SUPERSHOW 2006 has appointed Geatan Plourde of GPL Productions, St Hubert Quebec, as the Official Custom Bike Photographer of the 2006 Show. Geatan is the producer of 'La Belle et la Bete', a 2006 Calendar featuring some of Quebec's finest custom motorcycles and he will have the calendar on sale at his booth in Hall 4. November 21, 2005 . . . If you haven't checked out http://www.motohistory.net/news.html, right now would be a good time! You'll see an interesting story on our very own SUPERSHOW Producer, Bar Hodgson. Motohistory author Ed Youngblood, who is a former President of the American Motorcycle Association, author of many motorcycle books and a curator of motorcycle exhibits across the USA, visited with Bar and the SUPERSHOW Collection while in town as a keynote speaker at the MCC Congress and wrote a great story about the visit.



November 18, 2005 . . . As of this date the number of Clubs and Associations exhibiting at SUPERSHOW 2006 has reached 72! This is an all-time record for the 30 year history of the SUPERSHOW. SUPERSHOW sponsors these Clubs and Associations to exhibit, showcasing their members' motorcycles, promoting their charity rides and rallies, encouraging new members, and generally promoting the sport and camaraderie of motorcycling. November 17, 2005 . . . Dalton Timmis Insurance, insurers of custom and vintage motorcycles with their new 'Home for Chrome' policy, will be presenting the $4,000 in cash for the 'Specials' portion of the SUPERSHOW 2006 Mid-USA Awards competition to Show Bikes. Before the big overall winners are announced in the custom bike competition, there are 20 'Special Awards' with cash and trophies in such categories as Best Detail, Best Engineered, Best Paint, Best Chrome, etc.



November 14, 2005 . . . Exclusive to the SUPERSHOW, the MV Agusta 1000cc Tamburini will be featured in the Main Industry Hall #3. Owned by Doug Teague of Warrenton, VA it will be a guest bike in the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum display. Doug attends the SUPERSHOW each year because, he says it's "the best Motorcycle Show in North America". Having recently acquired the new Tamburini (#210 of a total of 300 built) Doug is bringing it to the Show for Canadian enthusiasts to see this beautiful, technologically advanced piece of engineering. November 13, 2005 . . . Exclusive to the SUPERSHOW, the Supermoto Canada Annual Awards Presentations will take place on Friday evening, January 6th in conjunction with SUPERSHOW 2006. November 11, 2005 . . . Exclusive to the SUPERSHOW, Motorcycle journalist and author, Max Burns, will officially launch his latest book, "These are a few of my Favourite Roads", at SUPERSHOW 2006. November 8, 2005 . . . November 4, 2005 . . . SUPERSHOW 2006, in conjunction with the Guelph Plastic Modellers Group, will hold a Motorcycle Scale Model Display and Contest, with judging in 6 classes. In addition to the contest for finished pieces there will also be demonstrations of building techniques to show the detail that goes into building these intricate works of art. A 1:16 replica of Rueben McMurter's 1983 Honda VFR750R Superbike will be on display along with Rueben's actual race bike, owned by the SUPERSHOW Collection and on display in the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum exhibit. November 1, 2005 . . . Exclusive to SUPERSHOW 2006, a new Airbrush Body Painting feature, "The Human Canvas", will feature airbrush artist De Anne Lamirande. De Anne will be airbrushing onto live female and male models (wearing bathing suits of course) during the three days of the Show, from her booth, Airways Airbrushing, as Show attendees watch her artistry come to life on living, breathing bodies as her canvas. Themes will include motorcycle riding gear, animal art, and exhibitor corporate identity themes. De Anne is one of the few female airbrush artists in a field dominated by men. Look for her finished works of art on display and walking around the Show.



October 28, 2005 . . . Beginning November 8th, Pit Pass Radio will feature live weekly interviews focusing on SUPERSHOW 2006 features and guests. On-line motorcycle radio station, Pit Pass Radio, will air live interviews with various SUPERSHOW 2006 personalities to promote the 30th Anniversary of the SUPERSHOW leading up to the Show dates of January 6, 7, 8, 2006. The first interview will be with Show Producer, Bar Hodgson, who will give a history and overview of the SUPERSHOW. Future segments will feature American Thunder's Michele Smith, Road Racing and MX Racers, Custom Bike Builders, MAX Award Winners, Motorcycle Book Authors and more to follow. September 27, 2005 . . . an agreement has been signed with Ducati North America to present a Ducati North America Dealer Display in the Hall 3 'New Bike' area. Featured amongst the 2006 new Ducati's will be a special display of bevel-drive Ducati's from the late 70's & early 80's. Ducati North America has chosen to feature these bevel-drive classics to draw attention to the new 2006 Paul Smart 1000 and the 2006 Sport 1000 sport classic and to show the connection between these new models and Ducati's legendary past. This unique and exciting display will be staffed by the greater Toronto area Ducati Dealers who are looking forward to discussing the features of the full 2006 Ducati line up with Show attendees at SUPERSHOW 2006.



August 8, 2005 . . . Humber College's Rider Training Instructors will be presenting seminars and workshops in Hall 3's Humber Rider Academy Theatre. With a wide variety of topics for both the new rider and experienced riders it's a great opportunity to learn how to ride better and stay safe on the roads. Included with your admission and highly recommended. The Seminar Schedule will be posted on the SUPERSHOW web-site closer to showtime, as well as on-site at the Humber booth.



July 16, 2005 . . . 47 Riding Clubs have already signed up for exhibit space at SUPERSHOW 2006. Displays will have a central theme while showcasing members' bikes and promoting their rides and rallies. The SUPERSHOW supports riding and racing clubs and organizations by sponsoring their display space and providing awards for the top 10 clubs displays. SUPERSHOW 2005 had over 70 clubs and associations exhibiting and we expect a record number for the SUPERSHOW's 30th Anniversary in 2006.



June 20, 2005 . . . Michele Smith, U.S. TV personality and host of Speed TV's American Thunder, will be a Special Guest at SUPERSHOW 2006. She will be on hand to meet Canadian fans, present her new line of T-shirts and lingerie, and sign autographs all three days of the Show. Also expect to see her presenting some of the top Showbike Awards. SUPERSHOW 2006 will be Michele's first Canadian appearance.
